FBC’s children’s ministries exist to help children know, honor, and treasure God.
We believe the Lord has uniquely equipped the local church to support this mission through accurately teaching the Bible and personally modeling biblical discipleship across the generations.
Three core values especially guide the way we invest in the children at FBC:
God grows us by the Bible (Acts 20:32; 2 Timothy 3:16–17), so we labor to make it the core focus of our children’s ministries. We want the Bible to be the center of our faith and practice, so we seek to teach it accurately and clearly and to obey it in our everyday lives.
We believe that God entrusts parents with the primary responsibility of teaching His truth to their children (Deuteronomy 6:5–9; Ephesians 6:4) and that the local church should encourage their efforts. We long to support, encourage, and come alongside parents as they carry out their God-given responsibility.
We believe that whole-family involvement in the church is the best environment for children. We view the children’s ministry as part of the larger church body. The New Testament commends cross-generational edification (Titus 2:1–8).
We strive to provide a clean, safe, and enjoyable environment in all our children’s ministries.
Our child policy helps us serve our families well. We are careful to protect the children God has entrusted to our care while simultaneously creating a clean and enjoyable environment.
If you have any questions about our child policy or volunteering for the children’s ministries at FBC, please contact Pastor Chris Pennington.
We seek to train the next generation to know and love God through a variety of ministries.
Our Sunday School curriculum, Generations of Grace, moves through the narrative of the Bible over the course of three years with special attention to God’s character and plan of salvation:
We teach the same content at two different age levels:
We encourage parents to teach through the 5-day family devotional each week to reinforce what their children are learning in Sunday School.
AWANA is a children’s club that meets weekly to promote learning and memorizing the Bible! It gives special attention to learning organized doctrine using question-answer parings and Bible memorization. In addition to learning the Bible, we engage in fun activities, games, and competitions. If you want your children to know and love the Bible, AWANA is a great place to start!

We believe that it is important for our children to learn how to worship God alongside the rest of the church, so our children stay upstairs during the start of the Worship Service. Every 2nd, 4th, and 5th Sunday of the month, we dismiss 4 year-olds through 4th-grade children to hear a message in an age-appropriate settings. They leave for Children’s Church after the final song before the message in the auditorium. This time is purposefully designed as a worship-training time that is:
We provide nursery childcare for infants through three year-olds that is clean, safe, and enjoyable. All of our volunteers commit to abide by our policies, submit to a background check, and undergo thorough training. During their time in nursery, children play with age-appropriate toys, sing, play games, and receive snacks (with parental permission).
